HAIR ENVY: Amy Wells Havins

The weather is finally starting to feel a bit like fall, which means we’re scouring our favorite fashion and beauty blogs to stay up-to-date on the latest trends. One such blog is Dallas Wardrobe from Amy Wells Havins, our latest hair envy feature. Not only does she have impeccable style, but that hair – I mean, c’mon! We were pleasantly surprised to learn that Amy is just as sweet as she seems on her blog, and she wasn’t afraid to share her beauty favorites and product must-haves with us – just in time for transitioning into the new season!

What’s your current occupation?: fashion blogger + style consultant

How’d you get into the field, and why?: I have been helping others with their style since I was a little girl. I ended up going to Baylor University and studying Fashion Merchandising and Business Administration. Upon graduation, I was working as a clothing representative and assisting a personal shopper. After learning as much as I could, it was time I went out on my own and started my own style consulting company. To be honest, the blog was a bit of an afterthought. It originally started as a way to help my current clients + gain more. Both have been amazing, and I am beyond blessed to be able to do what I am doing!

Who are a few of your favorite designers?: Valentino, Diane Von Furstenburg and Stella McCartney.

Take us through your daily beauty routine: It really is quite simple! I have to wash my hair pretty much everyday – working out makes it gross! So washing my hair, drying it, and then putting it in hot rollers. While the rollers are cooling, I apply make up! When make up is done, I take the rollers out, flip my hair and spray with hairspray – pretty simple!

Do you have a go-to hairstyle? If so, what is it?: Pulled back, half up half down.

How do you take care of yourself with such a busy schedule? What’s most important to you – skin, hair, body, etc?: Taking care of myself has always been a priority. It consists of attending my (almost) daily FlyWheel classes. I also try to get an occasional facial + do conditioning treatments for my hair!

Do you vary your look season to season? How does your routine change in the summer vs. winter?: Not really. The only thing I change is the amount of conditioning treatments. I do much more in the summer!

What are a few of the season’s best hair trends?: Lately I have seen a lot more braids and loose waves, and I am LOVING it!

Biggest beauty splurges?: Hairspray, Clarisonic and Le Metier de Beaute Peau Vierge anti-aging complex tinted treatment.

What does a bad hair day look like for you?: A top knot is the best way to disguise a bad hair day!

Would you rather – hair down or hair up?: Down

Whose hair do you envy?: Kate Middleton and Allison Williams

What’s a style you’d love to try at Blowtique that would be too hard to try at home?: The Rodeo, the classic
